Trip to the Scilly Isles

Our children, (Ingrid & Gareth) sprung a great surprise on us by organising a flight out to the Scilly Isles:)

Ingrid's friend James hired a plane from the Bodmin Flying Club and took us out along the North Cornish coast to the Scilly Isles.

At first the weather looked extreamly bad for sightseeing with low rain and heavy cloud.

We past signs of the former Tin mining industry, then we passed over the famous Longships lighthouse.

When we arrived at St Mary's the weather was considerably improved:) So we were treated to a wonderful ariel tour of the Islands.

James then had to wait for traffic to land at the airstrip before it was our turn to land.

Walking arround St Mary's was a terific experience, as well as being hot the town was peppered with colourful exotic plants. Some growing out of gutters!

The sandy beach was lapped by wonderful clear turquoise water with brightly coloured boats bobbing up and down.

Wonderful "stop me and buy one" Icecream bicycle.

The flight back was along the south coast and gave us the unique experience of flying through a rainbow.

Beachy Head

Anne & I were covering an Awards evening in Brighton last Friday evening. Saturday morning saw us drive along the English South Coast towards Beachy Head.

It was a blisteringly hot day with appauling light so we could only grab the "normal" "tourist" shots.

These pictures are looking West from Birling Gap.

We then walked up to the disused lighthouse and a view of Beachy Head and it's well known red and white Light House.

Note the boat sailing through the channel between the Lighthouse and the beach, this is only possible at High Tide.

Finally I was able to capture these wild plants growing on the very cliff edge.

Agnieszka & Luke

Saturday was blissfully hot for Agnieszka & Luke's wedding.

Agnieszka was simply stunning in a beautiful white lace dress with tiara and viel.

Luke and his groomsmen were dressed in traditional black morning jackets with grey trousers.

The service took place in the quaint St John the Baptist church in Londonthorpe. Londonthorpe is a tiny hamlet just north of Grantham in Lincolnshire.
These are just a small selection of the pictures we took of their wedding.

After the wedding they went to the historic Angel & Royal hotel in Grantham and we took them for a short walk through it's charming Georgian streets.

And into the grounds of St Wulframs church.

The Kings room in the Angel & Royal was a fantastic setting for their reception.
